[Case Study] Next-generation ceiling lighting to replace mercury lamps, illuminating even dark work areas.

Next-generation ceiling lighting that replaces mercury lamps, brightly illuminating even dark work areas.

At a factory of a mechanical parts processing manufacturer, mercury lamps were used for lighting. Shadows were cast on the work area, and the brightness was insufficient, hindering the processing work. Issues: 1. When cutting steel materials to millimeter precision, the light from the ceiling's mercury lamps does not reach adequately, making markings hard to see. 2. The worker's own multiple shadows (multi-shadow) fall on the object, making it difficult to see the work area. 3. Due to the difficulty in seeing, workers tend to accumulate fatigue more easily. 4. The lifespan of mercury lamps is short, lasting only 1 to 2 years, and replacing them requires time and cost.

Introduction case 6 of the electrode-less lamp: Dairy barn

Increasing milking volume by using electromagnetic-free lamps for barn lighting! Widely adopted by dairy farmers and factories in the United States!

A professor at Hiroshima University Graduate School (Animal Husbandry Management) has been researching the effects of barn lighting on cows since 2013, focusing on the hormone "cortisol," which is secreted when cows feel stress (often referred to as the "stress hormone" due to its rapid increase in secretion when the body experiences stress). The "electrode-less lamp" is considered to be close to sunlight among lighting devices and is thought to be a factor that does not induce stress. Additionally, this product has two types of light sources, with the "circle type" serving as a replacement for mercury lamps and capable of wide-area illumination. 【Features of the Electrode-less Lamp】 ■ Circle Type - Compatible with mercury lamps up to 1000W class - Can illuminate a wider area than the bulb type - Low-frequency type (adopted in the United States) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Pupil lumen

A new standard for lighting evaluation has already been established in Europe and the United States, considering the state of human pupils!

We would like to introduce "PLM: Pupil Lumen." Recent research has revealed that the traditional brightness standard "Lux" is not directly related to human visual capability. Instead, a new concept called "Pupil Lumen (Plm)," which takes into account the state of the human pupil, has begun to emerge as a new standard for lighting evaluation in Europe and the United States. [Summary (Excerpt)] - The diameter of the human pupil varies between 2 to 8 mm, resulting in an area change of up to 16 times. - In bright environments, the pupil constricts, reducing the amount of light entering the eye. - Conversely, in areas without strong light, the pupil dilates, allowing more light to enter the eye. As a result, one may perceive the environment as brighter than indicated by the Lux value. - The calculation method for pupil lumen involves applying a correction factor (S/P Ratio Correction Factor) to each lighting source. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

All products except for the "Eco Taro" lamp, which is a non-electrode (LVD) lamp, are produced domestically.

Replace mercury lamps nationwide with the "Eco Taro" electrodeless lamps! They have a long lifespan of 60,000 hours. PSE and Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications type certification obtained. Assembled and inspected by Japanese personnel.

60,000 hours of long lifespan. You will forget about lamp replacement. The power consumption is about one-third compared to mercury lamps, and instant lighting and instant re-lighting are possible. Compared to LED, the 300 lux of the electrode-less lamp appears brighter than the 500 lux of LED. Why does 300 lux appear brighter than 500 lux? Brightness is expressed in lux, but the perceived brightness by the human eye has a parameter called "pupil lumen," and the brightness multiplied by this parameter is the actual brightness seen by the eye. When using a 40W fluorescent lamp as a reference, the pupil lumen for LED and mercury lamps is 0.8, while for the electrode-less lamp, it is 1.92. In other words, when you multiply the 500 lux of LED by the pupil lumen of 0.8, you get 400 lux, and when you multiply the 300 lux of the electrode-less lamp by the pupil lumen of 1.92, you get 576 lux. Therefore, the perceived brightness is higher for the electrode-less lamp. In practice, when a client required an illuminance of 500 lux, the technical department of a publicly listed company accepted this theory for a design of 300 lux. Since there are no filaments or discharge electrodes, it is resistant to vibrations and does not produce defects like LED in press factories.
